The Traditional Ropes Course Instructor course is designed for anybody who operates or works on traditional high ropes courses; these are courses with activities such as Jacobโ€™s Ladder, Leap of Faith, High All Aboard and Crate Challenge etc. Typically these courses use an assisted belay system.
This course meets the standard for a person to be qualified as a European Ropes Course Association (ERCA) Traditional High Ropes Course Instructor as set out in EN15567 part 2.
The course will cover subjects through both practical and theory sessions to enable the group to cover the entire syllabus.

Morfa Bay Adventure is looking for reliable, motivated and enthusiastic individuals with the necessary people skills to join our team of experienced instructors.

You must be flexible, hard working and prepared to work outdoors in all types of conditions.

Roles and responsibilities will include leading activity sessions under the provision and guidance of a senior instructor. General centre duties as tasked by a senior instructor/centre manager and the completion of a duty shift (extended paid day) at least once a week (during peak season)

Previous experience in the industry is not necessarily required (but helpful) as successful applicants will be led through a period of in-house training and ERCA (High Ropes Instructor) qualification. This will be followed by consistent monitoring and assessment to ensure that they reach the required standard to lead activity sessions (where applicable).

Desirable (not essential) NGBs/Qualifications include;

โ€“ SPA/RCI (Assessment)

โ€“ RLSS National Beach Lifeguard Qualification or similar Life Saving Award

โ€“ WWSR or equivalent White Water Award

โ€“ Coasteering/Gorge Walking Leader Validation Award

 

The position will require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and all applicants must have an in-date first aid qualification or attend a first aid at work course before being considered for employment.

N.B. Morfa Bay Adventure does not offer any on-site rented staff accommodation.
