Ashcombe School arrive.

Ashcombe Primary School arrived safely yesterday and have started their adventurous activity programme.

Accompanied by their teaching staff they are all enjoying the challenges of  Abseiling/Zip line/Caving/Climbing/Muddy Assault Course/Orienteering/ Sea Activities/Bush craft and Archery.

The rain continues to poor but can’t dampen the enthusiasm of the children and all enjoying getting wet and muddy.

Thank goodness for the new Morfa Bay drying room it most certainly is being put to the test today!

Who cares about the weather when you are having fun!

All in having lunch at present keeping nice and warm around the log burner.

Well after a morning of torrential rain the sun has come out! Morfa Bay is bathing in sunshine we wonder has summer now arrived?

From anoraks and waterproofs to an afternoon of the children in t shirts. What is happening to the weather these days?

A welcome respite from the rain although all the children were thoroughly enjoying getting wet and muddy! After tea this evening a hike to Pendine beach before the climb back up the hill for a well earned rest and welcoming hot chocolate.


Whitminster & Christchurch Schools arrive at Morfa Bay

Morfa Bay welcomed Whitminster and Christchurch pupils to the centre yesterday accompanied by their staff.Following room allocation and a hearty lunch they all headed down the beach for a sea session. Despite the weather being not so warm as a few weeks ago they all had a thoroughly fun adventurous experience.

After evening meal they followed the coastal path to Pendine before returning to the centre for a well earned hot chocolate and bed.

Today (tues) with the sun shining they are all taking part in onsite activities including Archery/High ropes/Climbing/Zip line/Biking and the famous mud assault course.

After the heavy rain that fell during the night it will most certainly be wet and extremely muddy so stand by all those washing machines as you will be working over time on the weekend!

Recent News

Over the last two weeks we have seen further development with the new build and the enhancement of facilities at Morfa Bay Adventure.

Nearing completion the new toilet/changing facility is looking fantastic and will prove to be a vital asset in the ongoing progress the centre strives to make. As well as this our new client drying room and further refurbishment of much of the centre means that we almost ready for the busy, continuous intake of school residentials throughout the Spring/Summer Term.

Last week we welcomed Bishops College, Quebec, Ladies Rugby Team for a two night stay and we wish them all the best for the remainder of their European Tour. On a Thursday and Friday over the last couple of weeks Morfa Bay Adventure has facilitated a 4 day climbing/abseiling experience for the year 10/11 PE students of Sandfields Comprehensive, Port Talbot. Running from different venues along the Gower coastline, students were offered the opportunity to gain experience in what is a very popular outdoor sport.

Finally I must congratulate Nick, Andy & Rhys for gaining their D1 Minibus Licence following an intensive few days with Mainport Traning, Haverfordwest. Da iawn boys.

Right looks like the surf is up so I’m off!

LIDEN & PRIESTLEY SCHOOLS

The children and accompanying staff arrived safely at Morfa Bay and following lunch started their adventurous activity programme.

Mon evening the children walked to the beach and enjoyed playing in the shallow water and building castles etc

Later returned to the centre for hot chocolate and a well earned rest.

Tues – Beautiful sunny not too cold start to the day.

Some of the children have just returned from Sea Activities and all excitedly commenting on the fun and wishing they could do it all again!  Other groups having fun and challenging themselves on the climbing wall,abseil face and zip line.

This afternoon Mountain bike trail,Archery,High ropes and some of the children returning to the beach to have a go at rock pooling.


Southville School arrive in Wales

A party of children from Southville School and accompanying staff arrived safely at Morfa Bay in anticipation of a busy adventurous week of activities.

The weather on Monday didn’t deter them from enjoying their first afternoon of activities and in the evening a Spooky walk  for Halloween down to the beach returning for hot chocolate around the log fire.

Tuesday and what a beautiful day sunshine all the way at Morfa Bay! Thankfully no need for rain coats today and the lads able to play football on the pitch during their lunch break without getting covered in mud!

Wednesday another dry start to the morning but quite blustery but all wrapped up warm and out and about participating in a variety of activities including Climbing,Orienteering,Muddy Assault Course and Abseiling.


Yatton School arrive at Morfa Bay

Yatton School pupils and accompanying staff arrived safely at Morfa Bay ready for a full weeks programme of adventurous activities.

Activities started as soon as the children were all accommodated and had finished their lunch of traditional homemade soup and fresh filled rolls from the local bakery.

Activities enjoyed  Zip wire,Muddy Assault Course, Caving ,Mountain Bikes and Climbing.

The evening finished with a hike to Pendine Beach followed by hot chocolate and bed.
