RLSS National Beach Lifeguard Course

The RLSS Qualification is being held at Morfa Bay Adventure from Mon 23rd – Fri 27th Jan 2012.
We will be welcoming back course co-ordinator John Sager from Lifeguard and Rescue International Training for the sixth year running.
The NBLQ Includes:
- Beach Lifeguard theory – Teaching of the theories and practices of Beach Lifeguarding, most of which relates to the primary role of a lifeguard in preventing incidents.
- Open Water rescue skills – candidates will gain experience using a range of equipment to perform simulated rescues in the sea, including the torpedo buoy and a range of rescue boards.
- Life Support – candidates will receive thorough training in resuscitation techniques for adults, children and babies up to Life Support 3, RLSS UK’s highest life support award. Candidates can also be trained in Extended Life Support which is the use of Automated External Defibrillators and oxygen therapy.
- First Aid – Candidates will also be trained in First Aid and many go on to complete the HSE First Aid at Work, which is a valuable qualification recognised by all employers.
Residential Winter Deals @ Morfa Bay Adventure
Throughout February & half term
Stockwell Baptist Group arrive at Morfa Bay Wales
A group of young people and their leaders have arrived for a weeks residential at the centre to include work shops and adventurous activities.
After their journey down from sunny London they have arrived to beautiful Carmarthenshire and rain,rain and more rain!
This certainly hasn’t dampened any of their spirits and every now and then the sun peaks through to give some respite.
This afternoon the group are participating in Sea Activities at Pendine with hopefully plenty of surf for all participants !
After an afternoon of getting wet they will all certainly be looking forward to chilling out in the games room around the log burner and following this Di’s homemade curry night.
Yatton School arrive at Morfa Bay
Yatton School pupils and accompanying staff arrived safely at Morfa Bay ready for a full weeks programme of adventurous activities.
Activities started as soon as the children were all accommodated and had finished their lunch of traditional homemade soup and fresh filled rolls from the local bakery.
Activities enjoyed Zip wire,Muddy Assault Course, Caving ,Mountain Bikes and Climbing.
The evening finished with a hike to Pendine Beach followed by hot chocolate and bed.
Filming for new History Channel Series
Morfa Bay Adventure were delighted to welcome John Thompson and Simon Day to the centre on Sunday to film a taster session of the exhilarating activity Land Yachting on Pendine Sands as part of a new history channel programme ‘Britain Through Counties’ featuring Carmarthenshire.
Welcome Elm Park,Emerson Green and Bluecoat.
The 3 schools have all arrived safely to Morfa Bay and following lunch and settling in to their accommodation are ready for a full fun packed week of adventurous activities.
Already the lads from the 3 schools have made themselves at home, within half an hour of arriving the future Beckhams are expending their energy playing football up on the field.
Who knows ? Perhaps we are watching a future England player!
Following activities this evening all groups are off on the coastal path hike to Morfa Bychan and Pendine and back to the centre for hot chocolate and bed.
