Well today all staff returned to work for 2013 and it looks like being our busiest year yet!

December saw the wedding reception of Jemma and Paul taking place with lots of fun had by all. After months of preparation making bunting/table decorations etc etc the day finally arrived and though a little cold beautiful sunshine for the day.

A nuptial mass at St Teilo’s Church Tenby officiated by Jenny’s cousin Monsignor Seamus Conway who travelled from Dublin and resident Parish Priest Fr Owen Mcgreal  followed by reception held in a Marquee in the grounds of Morfa Bay attended by Family and friends of  both Jemma and Paul.

Music for the evening was played by Jemz younger brother Kieran and his friends from Cardiff ( thanks to Andy who joined them as a last minute replacement on bass guitar) they soon had the dance floor filled to capacity with John Kelly showing all how the twist should be done!

Entertainment then continued with Merv the swerve who everyone was delighted to see back at base playing the spoons together with one of Jemma’s friends and finally Merv took to the floor with his traditional Haka. A Disco followed off the entertainment with Wayne Wonder and was greatly appreciated by the younger generation although a fair few of the olds no names mentioned showed a good turn of moves to be sure!

Finally a grand firework display arranged by Gerry Kelly ably assisted by his shipmate Mervyn Cooper.

A truly memorable day enjoyed by all especially the newly weds and we wish them all the best for their future happiness together.

The centre now prepares for its regular visitors but who knows we may look to host some more Weddings in the future.

The staff are all on refurbishment for the next few weeks but also spending a few mornings training in the swimming pool ready for the Beach Life Guard course that takes place the week commencing 21st January.

More to follow.
