LIDEN & PRIESTLEY SCHOOLS

The above schools arrived safely yesterday lunchtime courtesy of Taf Valley Coach Company.

After a welcome and lunch the children started their activity programme.

Following evening meal they all headed out with Jon for a walk down to the beach returning for hot chocolate.

This morning the children are all on various activity taster sessions on site.

Following lunch they will all head down to Pendine for sea activities bbr!

Thankfully they will all be wearing wetsuits and boots and no doubt will have a fun time body boarding in the surf!

St Mary’s and Perry Court arrive

St Mary’s school and Perry Court school have both arrived safely for their week of adventurous activities.

All the children have settled in and are now tucking in to their lunch prior to their first activity session this afternoon.

The sun once again is out here at Morfa Bay however we are expecting some showers throughout the week but what the heck we’re going to be getting wet and muddy anyway so I don’t think anyone will mind!

This evening both school groups will head out on the coastal path with Nick and Steve via Pendine before returning for their hot chocolate and bed.

Day 2

After a bright start to the morning the promised rain has arrived here in our beautiful part of West Wales.

It has certainly not detered the childrens enthusiasm or dampened their spirits as they all headed out excitedly for their morning activity sessions. I was fortunate to join Ramsey Group on the Woodland Scramble and where better to be when its raining than enjoying the water and mud!

On our return Jono had kindly lit the log burner in the games room. It was lovely to see the children chilling on the sofa’s around the fire after lunch with some of their staff prior to heading out again for some more adventurous activities.

Luckily for us it seems we have only picked up the tail end of the heavy rainfall that some of the country has experienced and if the predictions are correct weather improving again tomorrow.

Cefneithin Primary School Yr 3 and 4

Today the Instructors have had the pleasure of welcoming the young pupils from Ysgol Cefneithin.

The children have participated in the following activities – Archery/Zip wire and the Muddy Assault Course.

A fun day has been had by all with the children enthusiastically giving 100% effort in attempting the adventurous activities.

It has also been a pleasure for some of the non Welsh speaking staff to brush up on their Welsh while encouraging the children on the activities.

After a full  fun packed day the children have headed home for the weekend.

We look forward to welcoming Ysgol Cefneithin again in the near future.

The rain continues to poor but can’t dampen the enthusiasm of the children and all enjoying getting wet and muddy.

Thank goodness for the new Morfa Bay drying room it most certainly is being put to the test today!

Who cares about the weather when you are having fun!

All in having lunch at present keeping nice and warm around the log burner.

Updates to follow.

Well after a morning of torrential rain the sun has come out! Morfa Bay is bathing in sunshine we wonder has summer now arrived?

From anoraks and waterproofs to an afternoon of the children in t shirts. What is happening to the weather these days?

A welcome respite from the rain although all the children were thoroughly enjoying getting wet and muddy! After tea this evening a hike to Pendine beach before the climb back up the hill for a well earned rest and welcoming hot chocolate.

Whitminster & Christchurch Schools arrive at Morfa Bay

Morfa Bay welcomed Whitminster and Christchurch pupils to the centre yesterday accompanied by their staff.Following room allocation and a hearty lunch they all headed down the beach for a sea session. Despite the weather being not so warm as a few weeks ago they all had a thoroughly fun adventurous experience.

After evening meal they followed the coastal path to Pendine before returning to the centre for a well earned hot chocolate and bed.

Today (tues) with the sun shining they are all taking part in onsite activities including Archery/High ropes/Climbing/Zip line/Biking and the famous mud assault course.

After the heavy rain that fell during the night it will most certainly be wet and extremely muddy so stand by all those washing machines as you will be working over time on the weekend!
