Morfa Bay Adventure had the pleasure of welcoming Debbie Williams who is to be the centre’s new Business Manager and Steve Childs Regional Business Director to the centre today Friday Feb 10th.
With the work going on at the moment they had to tip toe through the mud to view the facilities. Before departing they both seemed enthusiastic about entering a Barclay’s team for the village charity bobsleigh race in the summer which Andy hopes to organise raising money for charity and with the possibility of Debbie and Steve’s involvement promoting Barclay’s work within the Community.
Mon 24th January saw the beginning of a week’s intensive beach lifeguard training and assessment course.
In wintry conditions Morfa Bay staff and other candidates pitted their wits against the elements under the watchful eye of assessors John Sager & Tina Riggall.
Not only did the course involve sea rescue & recovery sessions but all involved were expected to demonstrate a competent swimming ability within a pool environment as well as first aid and in depth theory associated with the role of a national beach lifeguard.
